About this tour

Chandrashila treks are one of the most popular treks among Indian trekking enthusiasts. The trek to the peak is 5 km. The trek route that starts from Chopta takes one to Tungnath (highest Shiva temple in the world), from here it is a kilometre long, and a steep trek. Though shorter in distance, steep climbing makes this trek rigorous.

This trek is undertaken throughout the year although during the winter season due to snowfall this trek becomes hard as road to Chopta is closed. Trekkers use a different route during this period (Deoria Tal – Duggalbitta – Tungnath – Chandrashila

Itinerary

Day 0 - DEPARTURE TO CHOPTA

  • Departure in the evening.
  • The group will assemble at the pickup point.
  • Afterward, you'll get a small briefing from the Trip Leader(s)
  • Halt for dinner in between(not on us).

Day 1 - CHOPTA ARRIVAL

  • Reach Chopta, Swiss camp Check-in.
  • Freshen up & rest for some time.
  • Enjoy the views in the lap of nature.
  • Enjoy a bonfire. Followed by dinner and
    overnight stay.

Day 2 - TUNGNATH AND CHANDRASHILA

  • Wake up early & witness the beautiful sunrise.
  • Start your day early today.
  • Have breakfast and leave for Tung Nath.
  • Start your trek to Tungnath(World’s highest Shiva temple)
  • Reach Tungnath & pay your respect at the highest abode of Lord Shiva.
  • Start your journey to Chandrashila peak (if weather permits).
  • Come back by the evening.
  • Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3 - DEORIA TAL TREK TO DEPARTURE

  • Wake up and have your breakfast.
  • Check-out and leave for Sari Village(Base point for Deoria Tal trek)
  • Reach Deoria Tal and enjoy the picturesque views.
  • Trek back to Sari Village.
  • Departure from Deoria Tal in the evening.
